Many 40-50+ y/o people, especially living in very dry areas like Arizona, are having problems with their cracked heels and feet. Sometimes it's caused by infection and these people need to visit a doctor who knows how to treat it. But in many cases these cracks can be caused by extremely dry environment. Can we do anything to help our skin? Yes we can! We can support our skin using different tricks, and here is one of them. SoleMates uses a simple brilliant idea in a perfect way.

SoleMates for your dry, cracked heels and feet!
The ProblemDry, cracked skin on the sole and heel of the foot can be painful and potentially dangerous to your health. This problem affects millions of people around the world. Feet lose their ability to remain hydrated, soft and healthy as people age or suffer with various medical conditions such as obesity and diabetes. Even wearing sandals and contact with dirt can lead to excessive dryness. Poorly fitting footwear or other physical anomalies can cause calluses, which can dry and crack, exposing the foot to painful infection.
The RemedyThese problems can be remedied and prevented by wearing SoleMates. Allergy-free nitrile, used in medical gloves, has been applied to a proprietary blend of polyester, acrylic, Lycra, and Spandex, engineered to let the sole of your foot retain its natural moisture while wicking excess moisture away from the rest of your foot. Experience shows that SoleMates let dry skin exfoliate over time. Consistent use of the socks will help maintain healthy skin.
In a Hurry? To speed up the process, you can debride (remove) excess dry skin using a foot file for 30-45 seconds immediately before wearing your SoleMates Socks. When you reach healthy skin, continue to wear SoleMates and use your foot file if needed (2-3 times per week for some people) to maintain healthy, attractive feet.
Cremes and lotions are beneficial and help to speed the process. Mineral oil, petroleum jelly, and lip balm are inexpensive ways to treat dry feet. Other specialty foot care products can be used as well. Shea butter is an effective emollient. Just moisten the feet, then apply the foot oil, lotion or creme. The nitrile sole keeps the emollient in contact with the sole of your foot. Additionally, SoleMates protect floors, shoes, and bedsheets from unwanted transfer and staining.
How to usePrior to wear, gently stretch your SoleMates. Carefully pull on your SoleMates and wear them for 6-8 hours, in your shoes, in bed, or around the house. SoleMates can be laundered with cottons and will hold up for scores of washings. No special care is required.
If you have been searching for a natural, effective way to treat dry, rough, cracked feet and then maintain them to be healthy and attractive, SoleMates are made for you. Try them for 30 days. If, following these instructions, you are not satisfied with our results, return them for a full refund of your purchase price. We warrant that the socks are free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of purchase.

Submitted by Bernadette on Tue, 06/07/2011 - 16:19I haven't read a single ad directed to folks that are just about guaranteed to have dry, cracked heels, the elderly. It is common clinical knowledge that as we grow older, our skin becomes less able to produce and maintain an adequate moisture level. The end reult for the elderly are cracked heels, and if left unattended can lead to discomfort when walking ,and even worse problems if feet become infected.
If you look at the ads on Google the vast majority of them show younger or middle-aged folks grinding away with a pedegg, or applying some kind of lotion to their feet. The problem with debriding is it requires you to be able to reach your feet for a sustained period of time. It also requires you to be able to see clearly enough to be able to recognize when you have taken off enough---or more dangerously---too much skin. Putting lotion on your feet also requires a certain amount of dexterity, and there is always the scary possibility of not realizing how much you are putting on and slipping.
I did not have the elderly in mind when I invented SoleMates---but my wonderful customers promptly brought it to my attention that it was great for all the people they knew that had a problem with attending to their dry feet and heels. I promptly took a dozen pairs to a local Skilled Nursing Facility, and they agreed to ask some of their residents to give them a try. Great success! The older folks put them to use in ways I hadn't even considered. Many of them were uncomfortable wearing either slippers or shoes when they were up and about. The socks with the textured soles were great for just walking around, keeping feet clean and protected. Once the older folks set the precedent, their friends and families followed right along behind, giving their feet and cracked heels a spa treatment by slipping on the socks and wearing them around home while working or relaxing.
So there you have it. Finally a product that is universal in its application. If you are 18 or 81 and have cracked heels, treat yourself and them to SoleMates.

Submitted by Bernadette on Wed, 05/18/2011 - 19:24As if diabeitcs didn't have enough to think about, they also have to be worried about their feet. Folks with diabetes are "more vulnerable to foot problems because diabetes can damage nerves and reduce blood flow to the feet." More scary info has to do with the fact that one in five people with diabetes who seek hospital care do so for foot problems.
So that is all the bad news---the good news is that you can actively do something about it and the more serious foot problems associated with diabetes can be prevented. Here are some tips advocated by doctors. As routinely as you check blood sugars, at least once a day---do a foot check. Look for dry cracked skin. Look for blisters cuts scratches or sores. Check for redness, corns or calluses.
Prevention is always the key so----wash feet daily, pat , never rub skin dry. Do not use abrasive tools on your skin. If you wish to use lotion, do so, and make sure it stays close to your skin by wearing SoleMates.
SoleMates offers the safest way to prevent or treat dry cracked skin on the sole and heel of the foot. All that is ever necessary is to wear them, and they protect feet from contact with outside objects, keeping dirt away from the skin----and last but not least, they create a moisture rich environment that keeps skin from drying out and cracking.
Great producct for everyone, but especially for diabetics.
